This is your brain on psilocybin - The benefits are game changing

The new study’s scans highlighted an increase in connections to the anterior hippocampus, responsible for emotional memory, perception and imagination, Nicol said.

Parts of the default mode network, which impacts a person’s sense of self, time and space, also lit up on the scans. Antidepressants also target the default mode network, trying to interrupt the “negative thought loop, or stuck thinking that can occur with depression,” Nicol said.

“A lot of antidepressants do work on the default mode network connecting to other parts of the brain, just a lot more slowly than psychedelics do,” she said.

A window for change

Scans showed that in the days after the psilocybin trip, most brain networks returned to normal. However, connections between the default mode network and the anterior hippocampus persisted for up to three weeks, Nicol said.

Summer Tips - Need to know, Healthy Pooping!

Your Pooping Frequency May Affect Your Health

Pooping may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think about things you do to stay healthy. But a new study suggests that your bowel movement frequency might play a role in your gut health and your risk of certain chronic diseases.

To understand the impact of pooping frequency on gut health, researchers examined data on more than 1,400 healthy adults sorted into four groups: constipated people who defecated only once or twice a week; individuals classified as “low-normal” with three to six bowel movements weekly; people described as “high-normal” with one to three bowel movements daily; and those who had diarrhea and went four or more times a day.

Certain beneficial types of fiber-fermenting gut bacteria, often associated with health, appeared to thrive in people whose poop habits were in what researchers described as a “Goldilocks zone” of bowel movement frequency — going once or twice a day.

Meanwhile people in the constipation group had elevated levels of protein-fermenting bacteria, while people in the diarrhea group had higher levels of bacteria in their upper gastrointestinal tracts.

Ever Wondered Why Your Gym Clothes Never Smell 100% Clean?

It’s because activewear uses tightly woven synthetic fabrics to wick away sweat while you workout.

Unfortunately, traditional detergents use fabric softeners that can coat over sweat, dead skin, & bacteria trapping them inside these fabrics.

So once your body starts heating up… the smell inevitably returns.

ACTIVE solves this by using a scientifically formulated, all natural enzyme blend to break down these trapped contaminants once and for all!

Finally a solution to your smelly Activewear!

Today’s Need to Know - Live Forever?

New drug helps fight typical signs of aging, extends lifespan by 25% in mice

Scientists have discovered that deactivating a protein called IL-11 can extend the healthy lifespan of mice by nearly 25%, raising the potential for similar benefits in humans.

Researchers found that removing the IL-11 gene or using an anti-IL-11 antibody dramatically increased the lifespan and health of aging mice.

In a new piece of research, published in Nature,Trusted Source researchers at the Medical Research Council Laboratory of Medical Science and Imperial College London, in collaboration with Duke-NUS Medical School, administered an anti-IL-11 antibody — a drug that inhibits IL-11’s effects — to mice that were 75 weeks old, comparable to about 55 years in humans.

The results were significant: mice treated with the anti-IL-11 drug from 75 weeks of age until their death showed a median lifespan extension of 22.5% in males and 25% in females, living an average of 155 weeks compared to 120 weeks in untreated mice.

In addition, the treatment significantly decreased cancer-related deaths in the animals and also reduced various diseases associated with fibrosis, chronic inflammation, and poor metabolism, which are typical of aging.

12 Alternatives To Botox For Smoother, Wrinkle-Free Skin

Botox injections have long been touted as the go-to aesthetic treatment for minimizing the appearance of wrinkles to get smoother skin. And for good reason: "Neurotoxins like Botox, Dysport, and even Daxxify, relax the muscles of the face, thus softening the lines that can occur with repeated movements like vertical eleven lines between the brows, horizontal forehead lines, and crows' feet," according to Hadley King, MD, a New York City-based board-certified dermatologist. And the results can last anywhere from three to four months.

While there are many benefits to Botox, not everyone is able to get this aesthetic treatment. "Anyone who may be allergic to the neuromodulator, someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding, or someone who may have underlying nerve or muscle disorders should steer clear of it," says board-certified dermatologist DiAnne Davis, MD, FAAD lists. If that's you, what can be done?

The good news is that you don’t have to miss out completely on all the benefits that Botox has to offer. There are plenty of alternatives you can turn to get smooth and firm skin. Below are the 12 Botox alternatives you can turn to that the experts recommend. Read on to find the right one for you.
