Salt is GOOD for you, find out why. And what types are bad?
Salt has been used as a natural flavoring for thousands of years, and it’s so vital to our existence that a portion of our tongues is even designated to taste saltiness.
However, in recent years, salt has come under fire and been characterized as an unhealthy substance that we should cut out of our diets in favor of heart health. That being said, not all salt is created equal, and there is definitely a difference between unrefined, mineral-rich varieties like sea salt versus salt that has been heavily processed and stripped of all of its natural nutrients.
According to Ayurveda, salt should be unrefined and consumed in moderation to get the most health benefits. Sea salt is believed to act as an antidiuretic and help soothe the throat, clear the sinuses, support electrolyte balance and aid in detoxification.
Meanwhile, in Traditional Chinese Medicine, sea salt is used to cool the body and regulate levels of water and moisture. It’s also said to enhance kidney health, flush out toxins and promote proper digestion in the body.
My thoughts - table salt is bad for you! Using a mineral rich salt, can actually improve your health, and there is nothing to fear!
So what should I do?

Need to know - The Danger of Phthalates
Oh No! What Phthalates are doing to your health, from soap to shampoo to hair spray….
Regular exposure to chemicals used in the making of plastic food containers and many cosmetics may have fueled roughly 56,600—or 10%—of preterm births that occurred in the U.S. in 2018, according to new research.
Research has previously linked phthalates to cancer, infertility, birth defects, obesity, asthma, heart disease, diabetes and premature death, among many potential other health conditions.
To be safe, you can avoid any soaps, shampoos, lotions, or perfumes that contain synthetic fragrances. Even better, you can pick out safer products labeled with a "fragrance-free" Safer Choice seal, which means they've been vetted and approved by the Environmental Protection Agency.
Phthalates are also found in many personal care products. The chemicals make scents adhere to the body for longer, so anything labeled "fragrance" or "parfum" is a possible red flag.

Over 60 Health - Need to Know (Heart Health)
For women over 60, here is the number of daily steps needed to protect heart health
We’ve all heard the widespread recommendation of hitting 10,000 steps per day for optimal health, but some groups — such as women over age 60 — may not need that many.
That’s according to a new study published in JAMA Cardiology, which found that women between the ages of 63 and 99 only needed an average of 3,600 steps per day to reduce their heart failure risk by 26%.
"That is far fewer than the often targeted 10,000 steps per day," he noted.
Researchers from University at Buffalo in New York observed 6,000 U.S. women between ages 63 and 99, gathering data about their physical activity, sedentary time and heart health.
