Bruce Willis’ Health Battle, and Tips to prevent Dementia

Bruce Willis Continues his fight with dementia. His Aphasia diagnosis had progressed to frontotemporal dementia this past February, and has struggled over this long battle.

Emma (wife) continues to candidly speak out about how she’s coping with her husband’s dementia.

"I struggle with guilt, knowing that I have resources that others don’t," she wrote in an op-ed for Maria Shriver’s Sunday Paper last month.

In September she admitted on the "Today" show that "dementia is hard" and when asked if Bruce is aware of his condition, Emma responded, "It's hard to know."

How did Oprah Lose all of that weight? Is Ozempic the real-deal, safe?

Winfrey has not said how much weight she has lost since starting on weight-loss medication, but she told People that she now weighs 167 pounds.

Oprah is a spokesperson for Weight Watchers. WW recently launched a new membership plan for members taking GLP-1 prescriptions drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy sometimes used for weight loss. Story

Oprah didn’t name the weight-loss medication she takes, but drugs such as Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro have become household names in part because of savvy marketing and promotion on social media and in pop culture over the past couple of years.

Originally approved for the treatment of diabetes, semaglutide (Ozempic) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro) also were effective in reducing weight in patients taking them. Wegovy, a higher dose of semaglutide, was approved for “chronic weight management in adults with general obesity or overweight” along with diet and exercise, according to the Food and Drug Administration.

There are risky side effects of Ozempic - so always proceed with caution.

  • Pancreatitis

  • Vision Changes

  • Kidney Issues, including kidney failure

  • Allergic reactions

The long-term side effects for weight loss are still too early to tell. So as always, the BEST way to lose weight is with healthy diet, exercise, and eating whole foods. Avoid processed foods at all costs, and seed oils.

Want a 6-pack in 2024? Not beer, I’m talking ripped abs!

When it comes to training abs, high volume isn't necessarily everything. In a new video, Athlean-X founder and strength coach Jeff Cavaliere C.S.C.S. demonstrates an "incredibly tough" ab routine consisting of six exercises, done back to back with no rest in between, lighting up your core in the space of just five minutes."

Heels to the heavens (60 seconds) - Start by laying flat on your back with your hands face-down on the floor at your sides. lift your feet up until your legs are at a 90-degree angle to your torso, then press them up towards the ceiling.

Twisting pistons (30 seconds) - Starting in a plank position, jump and twist your legs inwards in alternating directions. "The bottom up rotation gets those lower abs again, but also works the obliques," explains Cavaliere.

Dueling clocks (30 seconds) - This is a challenging variation on a typical V-sit. While in a V-sit hold, rotate your legs outwards and then bring them back together.

Starfish crunches (60 seconds) - Lie flat on your back with your hands overhead, and then hinge up and twist to touch your foot with your opposite hand. "Every time we do this exercise, people say 'this is the one I hate,'" says Cavaliere. "And so do I."‘

Canoe crunches (60 seconds) - This aptly-named rotational exercise mimics the alternating downward driving motion of rowing in a canoe, and targets the abs from the top down. "Make sure to rotate your shoulders," says Cavaliere.

Twisting T-planks (30 seconds) - The final exercise brings even more rotation into the equation by having you keep rolling and reaching into alternating side planks.

"The key here is no rest," says Cavaliere. "Because we're shifting the focus around the abs, to the different areas, we're able to keep going... With that condensed amount of work in that short period of time, five minutes can become very effective. You don't need to be doing abs for very long, but doing them consistently is very helpful."
